\nIt\u2019s the age of decanting \u2013 never before have household perfectionists removed so many things from packages only to put them in other packages. Extreme tidiness is a modern obsession. But is it healthy?Strangers joke that Jacquelyn Rendall should stick a label on to Adam Rendall\u2019s head. \u201cHusband,\u201d it would read, in the curved typeface Rendall designed based on her own handwriting, the Pretty Perfect Font. If Adam had a label on his head \u2013 some of the 400,000 people who follow Jacquelyn on TikTok say \u2013 then he would match everything else in the couple\u2019s home in Rochford, Essex.It starts at the front door, where the words \u201cThank you postie\u201d are stuck on the silver letterbox, followed by a cartoon heart. There\u2019s nothing too unusual about this, nor the drawers in the corridor that hold separated bits and bobs labelled \u201ccables\u201d, \u201cbatteries\u201d and \u201ctools\u201d. It is Rendall\u2019s six-doored pantry that has the power to inspire a thousand envious and incredulous comments online. Starting at the top left, there are nine transparent containers full of white, brown, pink and yellow powders, each marked by its identity: \u201csugar\u201d, \u201chot chocolate\u201d, \u201cbanana milkshake\u201d. Below that are miniature acrylic drawers of stock cubes and tiered rows of spices. The word \u201ccereal\u201d adorns six canisters in the next cupboard; \u201ctagliatelle\u201d, \u201cspaghetti\u201d, \u201cconchiglie\u201d and \u201cpenne\u201d are also spelled out on clear containers (use-by dates are written in chalk pen on the back).
