\nMeasures aim to preserve communities and keep more homes available for locals but critics say they are \u2018anti-tourist\u2019Mared Llywelyn Williams, a 29-year-old education officer at a heritage site on Pen Ll\u0177n in north Wales would love to be able to afford her own home. \u201cBut there\u2019s no chance,\u201d she says. \u201cA terraced house perfect for a first-time buyer goes for \u00a3300k, a one bedroom fisherman\u2019s cottage, \u00a3250,000. That\u2019s outside the price range for me and most young people here.\u201dLlywelyn Williams left the Gwynedd village of Morfa Nefyn where she grew up for university, but after graduating wanted to return \u2013 and found she had no choice but to move back in with her family. Many of her contemporaries, even those with well-paid jobs \u2013 teachers, health professionals, lawyers \u2013 have left, squeezed out by second-home owners and property investors who have sent prices soaring.
