\nTaunton, Somerset, records biggest average price hike as homeworking buyers spend lockdown savingsThe \u201crace for space\u201d between homebuyers has pushed up prices in some UK towns by about a fifth this year, with Taunton topping a list of areas with the biggest increases.The average price paid for a property in the Somerset town increased by \u00a356,546 (21.8%) to \u00a3315,759 in the 12 months to October, according to figures from the mortgage lender Halifax.
