\nThe digital energy solutions are scheduled to be installed in the first half of 2022, at the Stephen Riady Centre and the Education Resource Centre.
\nThe National University of Singapore (NUS) will pilot SP Group\u2019s digital solutions to improve energy efficiency standards.
\nThis comes after SP Group has been awarded by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) a grant \u201cto develop and implement technologies and digital solutions to push the limits of buildings\u2019 energy efficiency standards\u201d under the Green Buildings Innovation Cluster (GBIC) Programme.
\nIn a release on Wednesday (16 June), BCA revealed that the digital energy solutions would be installed at two buildings in NUS\u2019 University Town (UTown)\u2014namely the Stephen Riady Centre and the Education Resource Centre\u2014in the first half of 2022.
\nThe buildings feature various categories of spatial use like teaching rooms, offices, commercial tenants and sports facilities, allowing SP to test the solutions on various areas.
\nThe solutions comprise an online digital portal as well as an artificial intelligence (A.I.) powered mobile application tool.
\nThe portal enables users to track the building\u2019s aggregated electricity and water consumption, including the resulting carbon emissions, enabling them to identify ways to reduce their utilities usage and carbon footprint.
\n\u201cThe portal will come with advanced data analytics to assist building operators to plan and achieve more efficient building management by providing actionable recommendations on saving energy and an A.I. enabled anomaly detection function to prevent energy wastage,\u201d said BCA.
\nThe SP Utilities App will also feature an \u201cAt Work\u201d function, which is aimed at enhancing the sustainability experience of occupants by providing them personalised energy data to help them better understand the consumption performance of the building.
\nMoreover, occupants will be encouraged to adopt green behaviour via gamification like quizzes, energy saving challenges, rewards, reminders and tips on saving energy.
\n\u201cDecarbonisation is a collective effort and we are at the forefront of enabling this paradigm shift through our strengths in integrated smart energy solutions. Leveraging digitisation and big data analyses, we can enable all building stakeholders to drive positive change at scale,\u201d said Stanley Huang, Group Chief Executive Officer of SP.
\n\u201cWith the support of BCA and building operators, we will develop user-centric solutions to advance next-gen green, energy-efficient buildings, and create green communities that will accelerate a carbon neutral future for Singapore.\u201d
