\nThe Building and Construction Authority (BCA) has approved 89 ongoing Build-to-Order (BTO) projects to resume works, including\u00a0Senja Valley HDB BTO project in Bukit Panjang, said Minister for\u00a0National Development Desmond Lee.\u00a0
\nHe had visited the project site on Friday, where he observed the COVID-19 safety measures put in place by the contractor \u2013 Sim Lian Construction.
\nThese include segregation of workers and work zones, which means fewer workers are being assigned for jobs within the same zones.

\nThis also means that some works take longer to complete than during pre-COVID times, said Lee on his Facebook post.
\nHe noted that the project\u2019s contractors had put extra effort to regularly consult with relevant agencies, \u201cand ensure detailed manpower planning, site preparation, as well as train their workers to maintain safe distancing\u201d.
\nWith this, the minister thanked the contractor and their sub-contractors for their commitment to prevent the resurgence of COVID-19 and for doing their best to deliver the projects on time.
\n\u201cAbiding by these safety measures may lead to inevitable delays, but they are needed for everyone\u2019s health and safety,\u201d he said.
\nLee also reassured homeowners that HDB will \u201ccontinue to do their best to minimise these delays for all other BTO projects, while working with contractors to ensure COVID-safe compliance\u201d.
