{"id":112446,"date":"2019-11-18T10:23:12","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T03:23:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.siamlandbank.com\/propertynews\/property-news\/private-home-sales-drop-27-in-october\/"},"modified":"2019-11-18T11:03:19","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T04:03:19","slug":"private-home-sales-drop-27-in-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.siamlandbank.com\/propertynews\/property-news\/private-home-sales-drop-27-in-october\/","title":{"rendered":"Private home sales drop 27% in October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#013;<br \/>\nHowever, the sales figures still show an\u00a084.9% increase compared to a year ago.<br \/>\nNew private home sales in Singapore fell 27% in October from September, reported Channel News Asia, according to data released by the\u00a0Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).<br \/>\nAccording to URA data,\u00a0developers only sold 928 units in October (955 units including executive condominiums), compared to 1,270 units from the previous month.<br \/>\nHowever, on a year-to-year comparison, the figures show an 84.9% increase.<br \/>\nThe new homes sold in October in the Core Central Region (CCR) tripled to 182 units from September, the biggest recorded since March 2016, with Singaporeans buying 133 of those units.<br \/>\nAnalysts said the good performance was mainly due to new project launches in the area, including\u00a0Midtown Bay Residences, Neu at Novena and Royalgreen. The other new launch this month was Midwood, within the Outside of Central Region (OCR).<br \/>\nREAD:\u00a0Guocoland\u2019s Midtown Bay Condo: 5 Key Points Of Interest<br \/>\nThe deficiency in major launches in the city fringe and mass-market segments like the OCR could have been a factor in the sales drop, said OrangeTee and Tie head of research and consultancy Christine Sun.<br \/>\n\u201cSales volumes tend to be lower when more luxury projects are being launched in a particular month, owing to the higher price tags and lower affordability,\u201d she said.<br \/>\nURA Realis data show that this year saw 104 non-landed new homes sales reach S$5 million and above, which is the highest mark since 155 were purchased from January to October 2011, added Sun.<br \/>\nHigh-profile transactions, such as James Dyson\u2019s purchase of Singapore\u2019s most expensive apartment, contributed to \u201csignificant positive sentiments for developer sales,\u201d said property analyst Ong Kah Seng.<br \/>\n\u201cDespite the global trade and geopolitical uncertainties, we believe demand for Singapore private homes is still relatively stable given the tight labour market, favourable interest rate environment, and relatively healthy household balance sheet,\u201d said Tricia Song, Colliers International head of research for Singapore.<br \/>\nOng believes the country\u2019s properties will become more attractive for foreign buyers wanting stable investments.<br \/>\n\u201cThere\u2019s increasing international attractiveness of Singapore residential properties as offering longer term stability to all profiles of buyers, including from foreigners who are eschewing investments in Hong Kong due to that city\u2019s heightening social turbulence,\u201d he noted.<br \/>\nLooking for a property in Singapore?
