However, many remained sceptical as to whether the new laws would be respected.Activists from the London Renters\u2019 Union marched in Hackney holding a banner saying, \u201cPay your own damn fees\u201d, while campaigners in Bristol, Brighton, Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle visited letting agents to \u201cremind them of their responsibilities\u201d and request that they sign pledges to comply with the law.
