{"id":105393,"date":"2019-03-26T10:37:13","date_gmt":"2019-03-26T03:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.siamlandbank.com\/propertynews\/property-news\/singapore-luxury-home-prices-up-7-7-in-2018\/"},"modified":"2019-03-26T12:02:43","modified_gmt":"2019-03-26T05:02:43","slug":"singapore-luxury-home-prices-up-7-7-in-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.siamlandbank.com\/propertynews\/property-news\/singapore-luxury-home-prices-up-7-7-in-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Singapore luxury home prices up 7.7% in 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#013;<br \/>\nSingapore registered the third highest increase in prime residential prices at 7.7 percent, behind Berlin and Shanghai.<br \/>\nPrime residential prices across the world\u2019s key cities eased significantly to just 0.4 percent during the second half of 2018, but overall increased by 2.3 percent across 2018, revealed Savills\u2019 world cities prime residential index.<br \/>\nSingapore registered the third highest increase in prime residential prices at 7.7 percent, behind Berlin and Shanghai which saw prices climb nine percent and 7.9 percent respectively.<br \/>\nMore:\u00a0Here\u2019s What The World\u2019s Most Expensive Home Looks Like<br \/>\nHong Kong posted the fourth highest hike in prices at 7.3 percent, followed by San Francisco (6.9 percent), Tokyo (5.7 percent) and Shenzhen (4.8 percent).<br \/>\nNonetheless, Hong Kong remained that world\u2019s most expensive city, with prices soaring 199 percent over the last 10 years, while Singapore settled in eighth place.<br \/>\nTokyo, on the other hand, came in second, followed by New York, London, Shanghai, Sydney and San Francisco. Rounding off the top 10 list are Paris and Shenzhen.<br \/>\n\u201cWithout doubt, the world\u2019s wealthy will continue to want to hold one or more world city prime residential properties as part of their investment portfolio, both as a store of wealth and as a base for work and leisure,\u201d said Savills world research director Sophie Chick.<br \/>\n\u201cBut as cities reach maturity on the world stage there will be less potential for rocket fuelled price growth and we expect prime residential markets to settle a more steady growth trend over the foreseeable future,\u201d she said.<br \/>\n\u201cThere will be exceptions as new global cities emerge or economic conditions improve.
