\n\u00b7 Councils could offer cash rewards to greenest homes \u00b7 Measures designed to tackle landfill mountainCouncils should be allowed to reward residents who recycle and charge those who produce large amounts of waste, David Miliband announced yesterday, as he unveiled a range of measures to tackle England’s landfill mountain and slash carbon emissions.The environment secretary said that local authorities could offer cash rewards of as much as \u00a350 a year to the greenest houesholds at the expense of the most wasteful.
